Client Relationship Manager - Small Group

Michigan Planners is a third-generation employee benefits agency that is expanding quickly based on our high-tech and high-touch approach to employers and their workforces. Join our creative and collaborative agency with enormous opportunity to learn and grow! In this role, you will maintain a professional working relationship with the key contacts of the small group block of business assigned to you and successfully partner and provide recommendations to them on their employee benefits needs. You will work closely with our internal Enrollment, Plan Analyst, Compliance, and Claims teams to ensure updates to their accounts occur in a timely manner. This is a full-time position, provides excellent benefits, offers a great core schedule from 8:30am-4:30pm Eastern, and is located in Washington, MI. This role is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities
  • 3-5 years of industry experience working in Client Services or as an Account Manager
  • An ownership mentality, contagious energy, and leadership skills that portray confidence in your team members and clients
  • A passion for providing a white glove level of customer service
  • A background auditing proposals and/or other employee communications preferred
  • Proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • )
  • Experience with Zywave, Benefit Solver, BrokerageBuilder, and/or Employee Navigator software strongly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Able to successfully work independently and as part of a team
  • Proven background prioritizing and managing multiple projects & client needs simultaneously
  • Currently have or able to obtain a State of Michigan Life & Health Insurance License
  • Education Required: High School Diploma/GED

Account Executive

Are you great at building relationships and enjoy working with customers to support their employee benefit offerings? Are you interested in working with carriers and clients to design solutions, and report on how employer health plans are performing? We are a third-generation employee benefits agency that is expanding quickly based on our high-tech and high-touch approach to employers and their workforces. Join our creative and collaborative firm with enormous opportunity to learn and grow! In this role, you will meet with prospects and conduct a needs analysis to identify their requirements. You will work directly with clients to provide stellar healthcare benefits advice to continuously grow & retain your new accounts and existing book of business. You will also work with colleagues, clients, and carriers to ensure the best solution is designed for each unique situation. This is a full-time position, provides excellent benefits, offers a great core schedule from 8:30am - 4:30pm Eastern, and can be located in any of our offices throughout Michigan in a hybrid schedule..

Responsibilities
  • A passion for providing a white glove level of customer service
  • At least 2 years of experience at an employee benefits broker writing new & renewal employer group policies
  • Track record of creating excellent relationships with clients and carriers
  • A background managing a book of business with a 98.5% or better retention rate
  • A solid history in employee engagement & enrichment and people management including but not limited to performance management, creating expectations, goal setting, conducting one-on-ones, and employee evaluations
  • Able to identify new revenue streams within your assigned client portfolio
  • Experience managing client deliverables & deadlines
  • Demonstrated background conducting successful client stewardship including leading pre-renewal & renewal strategy meetings
  • Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to self-manage, working both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Active State of Michigan Life and Health Insurance License
  • Education Required: bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
